What are the Most Important Model Years for the Chevy Colorado?

The Chevy Colorado can do it all, from navigating crowded streets to bounding through the mud while off-road. The Colorado has been available for about 20 years now, though not continuously, and in that time it's earned a lot of fans among pickup drivers. If you're looking at used Chevy trucks for sale and are particularly interested in what a Colorado has to offer, then the model year you choose will be crucial. Even a single year's difference can have a huge impact on the sort of performance and features you can find with your Colorado, particularly when it marks the start of a new generation. more We're always happy to answer your questions and help you find the perfect truck here at Edwards Chevrolet 280. In that spirit, let's go through some of the most important model years to watch as you're looking at your options. Other model years can still be great, but having these ones in mind makes it easier to guarantee you'll get certain features or trim levels. Just remember to look beyond the model year and look closely at the details of any particular used truck you're interested in before making a purchase. The 2004 Chevy Colorado The inaugural year for the Colorado is a great place to start, though you won't find too many of these at used car dealers since they're pushing two decades at this point. Still, this was a terrific year for the Colorado, which launched with a 2.8L I-4 engine that offered 175 hp, with a more-powerful 220-hp 3.5L option available. Rear-wheel drive (4x2) was standard from the very beginning, though four-wheel drive (4x4) was available, so you can find 2004 models with either drive type. Numerous cab sizes were also offered, including two-door standard cabs and four-door Crew Cab models. These first models also had a pretty simple trim selection with just three options: the base, the LS, and the LT. As you might expect from a truck born two decades ago, amenities and tech features are pretty limited, although leather-trimmed seating and a six-disc CD changer (remember those?) were available. Of particular note was the available Z71 Off-Road suspension—a name that has remained an important part of the Colorado ever since. The 2007 Chevy Colorado Still part of the first generation for the Colorado, the 2007 model saw a minor revision, including a facelift to update its curb appeal. Perhaps more importantly, however, this update included two new engines: a 2.9L I-4 that offered 185 hp and an advanced 3.7L option with 242 hp for boosted performance. You can see that both of these engines were more powerful than the ones the Colorado launched with, and these kinds of innovations and improvements can be seen throughout its impressive history. In addition to its updated grille, new paint colors for the exterior were offered for 2007, along with new wheels and other options. The 2013/2014 Chevy Colorado The most noteworthy aspect about the 2013 and 2014 models of the Chevy Colorado is that they don't exist. Although the Colorado had proven itself pretty popular early on, sales had been on a bit of a decline in the years leading up to this point. Even updates for the 2007 and 2009 model years weren't enough to boost those numbers back up, and Chevy realized they needed to give the Colorado an injection of excitement with a full redesign. This took some time to develop, so you won't find this truck from 2013 or 2014, but it made a huge splash when it returned the following year... The 2015 Chevy Colorado For the 2015 model year, Chevy launched an all-new second generation of the Colorado with a complete redesign that took some visual inspiration from the full-size Silverado. New materials and superior engineering help make the frame of the 2015 model significantly lighter than previous ones, with high-strength steel to ensure it can still handle anything you throw at it. It launched with a 2.5L I-4 engine that offered 200 hp, with an available 3.6L V6 engine that boosted performance with 305 hp; both were offered with a six-speed automatic transmission. A five-speed manual transmission was available for the standard engine, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a used truck with a manual. With this second generation, Chevy slightly expanded on the trim selection with a Work Truck (WT) with more features, an LT with improved standard features, and a Z71 off-road-focused trim level. Since these models were released less than a decade ago, it's pretty easy to find plenty of them in their diverse trims and equipped with all kinds of available features. One thing to note is that a diesel engine quickly became available for the Colorado but not until the 2016 model year, so if you're interested in a 2.8L Duramax I-4 turbo-diesel engine with 369 lb-ft of torque, then you'll want to look at a later model. The 2017 Chevy Colorado Since the fully redesigned Colorado launched for the 2015 model year, you won't find huge changes on 2017 models, with one important exception to note: the 2017 Colorado offered an all-new ZR2 trim level. While the Z71 is a great choice for heading to your favorite campsite or dealing with a lot of gravel and dirt roads, the ZR2 is the peak off-road experience for the Colorado. This first appearance included a wider track, a factory-installed two-inch suspension lift, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and much more. If you're looking to do some serious off-roading in a used Chevy Colorado, then you definitely want to look for 2017 or later models of the ZR2 trim for the best trail performance possible. The 2021 Chevy Colorado For the 2021 model year, Chevy gave the Colorado a facelift and update that includes a new grille, front fascia, and tailgate for an improved overall look. A dealer-installed one-inch leveling kit also becomes available starting with this model year, along with new 17-inch wheels found on the WT and Z71 trims. The LT model for 2021 started with an 8.0-inch infotainment display and a new Chevy Infotainment system, improving and updating this truck's tech features and functionality. Also of particular note, the ZR2 trim received an update for 2021 with a new grille, front fascia, and overall look, plus new exterior colors; meanwhile, the ZR2's available Bison Edition included front bumpers, interior details, and skid plates designed in partnership with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) for even greater off-road capability and style. Now to Narrow Down Your Options As you can see, the model year you look at greatly impacts the performance, features, and overall look and feel of the Chevy Colorado you get. You probably don't want to go as far back as the first few model years, if only because they'd be difficult to find, but even a Colorado from the end of the first generation can still be a great option with a lot of life left in it. We're particularly big fans of the second-generation Colorado, and models from 2016, 2017, and 2021 are among our favorites for pre-owned trucks designed for the modern age. (Of course, with a third-generation Colorado launching for the 2023 model year, we'll soon see a wide range of exciting new options for pre-owned Chevy trucks in the years ahead.) Once you've chosen the year you like, you can look at different used models and find the perfect engine, trim, and features that meet your needs.

What You Need to Know About the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500

Did you know the Chevy Silverado is one of the best-selling vehicles in the country? More specifically, it's the second-best-selling vehicle overall; think about how many vehicles are sold in America every year! That's a high status—but a status well-deserved. The Chevy Silverado 1500 is a fan favorite; as natural as the Earth revolves around the Sun, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is another annual update for this superb pickup truck. more The 2024 Chevy Silverado is exciting because, while its updates don't completely revolutionize the legendary foundation, the changes made are the right choices moving forward. The 2024 Silverado 1500's list of trims will remain as it has been, as no trim received a meaningful deviation over the last few years, but the ever-popular and more recent ZR2 trim is confirmed to be making an appearance for the third consecutive year in a row. That's enough about some of the smaller details; let's take a closer look into what you'll be experiencing with a new 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500. Familiar Performance (Yes, This Is a Good Thing) Hear us out: performance remains the same with the 2024 Silverado 1500 as last year's model, but this isn't a bad thing. Not only does the turbocharged I-4 engine accompany the two returning V8 engines, but the turbo-diesel engine makes a return, too—which is a bigger deal than many think. There are still a healthy amount of truck drivers who prefer diesel-powered engines, and the Silverado 1500 can be fitted with one, while its largest competitor—the Ford F-150—ditched diesel years back to shift focus onto their hybrid powertrain. This year's main difference isn't in data but with naming, as the 2.7L turbocharged I-4 engine has been rebranded into a TurboMax engine. Ultimately, it's the same engine that took over the base role since the 4.3L V6 engine was discontinued in the 2022 model. This new standard TurboMax creates 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque, with a towing capacity of 9,500 lbs and a payload capacity of 2,260 lbs. While the TurboMax engine provides the lowest towing capacity of the four powertrains, it has the best payload capacity. As for the two V8s, the 5.3L and 6.2L EcoTec3 engines are both paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission instead of the eight-speed automatic transmission that's matched with the base TurboMax engine. The smaller of the two V8 engines produces 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and the possibility of towing up to 11,300 lbs. A towing capacity of 11,300 lbs isn't even the best the Silverado 1500 has to offer. If you purchase either the 6.2L V8 or the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel I-6 engines, you'll have a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 lbs. This is a percentage differential of 40% between the strongest two engines against the base one. The 6.2L V8 engine has more horsepower than the Turbo-Diesel, at 420 hp against 305 hp, but the Turbo-Diesel engine has a greater torque output, at 495 lb-ft of torque, compared to the V8's 460 lb-ft of torque. With the 2024 Silverado 1500, the Turbo-Diesel engine can be equipped on the off-roading-ready ZR2 trim. Performance remains one of the Silverado 1500's strong suits, even compared to other modern-day trucks, so for the performance to stay the same this year isn't a bad thing. Class-Leading Cargo Space The 2024 Chevy Silverado keeps its status as one of the most cargo-friendly pickup trucks you can get. How much space does the Silverado 1500 give you? Like most full-size trucks, there is a trio of bed sizes you can choose from—but what's special about the Silverado 1500 is that all three of its bed sizes are larger than other trucks. Most notably, the Silverado 1500 has more cargo space than the F-150, which is Chevy's chief competitor in the pickup truck segment. Not only does the Chevy Silverado 1500 have significantly more cargo space than the F-150, but it manages this by only incrementally increasing the length of the truck. What it shows is that Chevy's engineers know how to best make use of the space they have to work with—but how much of a difference are we talking about? The smallest bed size for the F-150 is five feet, five inches long, which is only three inches shorter than the Silverado's five-foot, eight-inch bed, but the bigger difference lies in how the Silverado's smallest bed offers 62.9 cu.ft. of space instead of the 52.8 cu.ft. available on the Ford F-150. The difference in cargo space is 19%, but the Silverado's truck bed is only 4.5% longer. See what we mean? The same kind of differences can be seen when moving up to the two larger beds: the six-foot, five-inch median and eight-foot long beds for the Ford F-150 contrast to the six-foot, six-inch median and eight-foot, two-inch long beds for Chevy's full-size pickup. The two formers may only be 1% different in length, but Chevy's truck has 15% more cargo space in this configuration: Chevy's 71.7 cu.ft. against Ford's 62.3 cu.ft. Similarly, the eight-foot, two-inch long bed is only 2% longer than the F-150's eight-foot long bed, but the Silverado 1500 again has 15% more cargo than the F-150 if you opt for the longest bed. A Few Changes for 2024 The 2024 Chevy Silverado keeps with the best of the old but also fine-tunes the experience elsewhere and, in some cases, tweaks the base-level experience to fit better in the modern landscape. An example of this is in features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, now coming standard with the Silverado 1500. This level of connectivity was formerly limited to higher trims but—like Bluetooth, power windows, and radio before it—auto manufacturers like Chevy have acknowledged that this is becoming a staple in user-friendly amenities. They're keeping up with the times by bringing more current features to drivers looking to spend less. A few more of the features that make their way to the entry-level Silverado 1500 are OnStar support, an emergency service you can activate in the event of accidents, flat tires, vehicle breakdowns, etc. The already impressive amount of safety features available on last year's model is complemented by new additions like Front and Park Rear Assist to safely navigate into a parking space while avoiding collision with any stationary objects; these sensors are affixed on both ends of the Silverado 1500 with the appropriate safety package. This Year's the Year to Act We think this is the year to get yourself a brand-new Chevy Silverado 1500. Chevy's lineup does not falter, and each year the automotive industry follows in the footsteps of its most prolific leaders, both in sales figures and historic qualities, and there are very few who can hold a candle to the legendary status that Chevrolet has formed over the past 100+ years. There's never been a better time to purchase a pickup truck, too, between the incredible amount of performance that triumphs over pickup trucks of the past, the versatility of hauling or towing anything you choose, and the best tech in both multimedia and safety that has graced the far reaches of Chevy's lineup, from the high-tech electric vehicles to the most family-oriented SUVs, everyone can enjoy the best of what Chevy has to offer.

Since 1999, the Chevy Silverado has been offering drivers the absolute best that Chevy vehicles have to offer, and its history is marked by constant, consistent innovation with each new iteration. The Silverado is as dominant on the road as it is on the trail—and those looking for a Chevy Silverado for sale near Vestavia Hills know exactly what we're talking about. The 2023 Silverado has had its praise and its time in the sun, resting atop the summit of the segment in terms of performance and technology; however, with new details emerging on what the 2024 Silverado HD Series has in store, the 2023 model's dominance is likely to come to a close. The 2024 Silverado HD marks some of the boldest strides in innovation this model has ever seen—and with all sorts of new features, we here at Edward Chevrolet 280 can't wait to get behind the wheel and see all it has to offer firsthand. Performance To start, the 2024 Silverado HD Series offers the most advanced powertrain ever seen under the hood of this model, giving a whole new meaning to raw power in a pickup truck. Sporting a 6.6L V8 engine as its standard engine, the 2024 Silverado HD gets up to 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque from the outset, giving it an immense amount of performance capability for whatever you're up against. This engine is paired with a ten-speed transmission, making gear shifting smooth and nimble, contributing to the truck's overall maneuverability, making for a more comfortable driving experience that keeps you in control no matter what. An available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 yields 470 hp and a stunning 975 lb-ft of torque, getting you the best low-speed grit in the segment. And the 2024 Silverado HD's suspension is tuned to handle rough riding so that, no matter what terrain you may find yourself on, you'll have the confidence to manage it. Capability The 2024 Silverado HD has the most astonishing towing capabilities of any Chevy pickup truck to date, running neck-and-neck with its closest competitor in their eternal effort to outdo the other. With its standard 6.6L V8, the 2500 HD can tow up to 18,700 lbs of materiel or carry 3,759 lbs of cargo in its bed, making it a fantastic companion for the toughest of projects, as well as bringing along heavy-duty equipment that can kick your outdoor excursion up a notch. If you're looking for even more, the 2500 HD's available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel can kick this Chevy's max towing capacity up to an astonishing 22,500 lbs, making an already powerful truck into an absolute beast. Its payload limit increases to 3,850 lbs, but these metrics are meager compared to the feats of the Silverado 3500 HD. With the 6.6L V8, the 3500 HD can carry 7,290 lbs in its bed or tow 21,600 lbs behind it; these are immaculate metrics, but still not the Silverado's best. With the 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel, the 3500 HD can carry 6,644 lbs of payload or tow a jaw-dropping 36,000 lbs of equipment; for the uninitiated, that's 18 tons—or about nine sedans, if you want to visualize it. Technology The 2024 Silverado HD Series has the most advanced technology features you'll find in the modern auto market. With its standard 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, you can stay connected to your smartphone at the touch of a button, allowing you to control music and Bluetooth connections, navigation, and hands-free calling in a way that reduces distractions. In addition to its infotainment system, the 2024 Silverado comes fitted with a 12.3-inch driver information center just beyond the steering wheel, keeping you aware of important drive data such as gas, speed, oil life, and more, all at a glance, further making the 2024 Silverado HD a nexus of information and connectivity. And the 2024 Silverado's technology isn't just utilized for entertainment and information purposes but also serves to improve the truck's overall performance. Trailering technology helps to make the towing process considerably easier, utilizing smart guidance and sensor tech to improve hitching time and allowing you to monitor your loads with rear-facing cameras. Safety Of course, more than any attribute in a pickup truck, safety is of the utmost importance. Especially for those with families to account for, drivers always want to be able to get behind the wheel with confidence, knowing they can rely on their vehicle to take them where they need to go as safely as possible. This is why the 2024 Silverado HD Series is built from the ground up to be the safest pickup truck you can find on the market, sporting the most advanced safety technologies you'll find in any vehicle anywhere. Among these features are the forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, and following distance indicator, all of which serve to keep drivers aware of their surroundings at all times and to inform them of perceived dangers. Other driver assistance features include lane departure warnings and lane keeping assist, which help to ensure you remain within the confines of your lane. In particularly dark areas or driving situations in which it is difficult to see, Chevy's IntelliBeam headlights help to cut through the fog; most impressively, they will automatically adapt their luminosity when oncoming traffic is detected, so as to reduce the blinding of other drivers. The Beast of Burden The Silverado HD Series is a particularly remarkable pickup from the minds at Chevrolet, and with the bold strides in innovation that are on the horizon with the 2024 iterations, there's a lot to look forward to in this model's future. The all-new 2024 Silverado HD is the pinnacle of innovation in the pickup segment, from its unbeatable under-the-hood performance to its highly responsive technology that keeps you in the know at all times and the most advanced safety features that keep you aware and alert. When properly equipped, you can tow up to 18,700 pounds, and since you’re in a Chevy, you’ll be towing in style too. For a bit more juice, a turbo diesel V8 engine is also available. The Duramax 6.6-liter engine produces 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque, which allows for a max trailering weight of a whopping 36,000 pounds when properly equipped. Also paired with the Allison ten-speed automatic transmission, the Chevy drives like a dream. Towing and trailering is a piece of cake in the Chevy Silverado with a full suite of tech at your side. There are 14 available camera views that make backing up, maneuvering, and hitching easy. A new Enhanced Transparent Trailer view allows you to “look through” a trailer and now works with fifth-wheel and gooseneck trailers. The addition of Adaptive Cruise Control with Trailer takes Cruise Control to a whole new level. It accounts for the addition of the trailer when towing and uses the information to adjust how it brakes. The Blind Zone safety feature is also extended with Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, which covers the extension of a trailer as well as the vehicle. Lastly, GCW Alert is a program that warns the driver if the combination of truck and trailer exceeds the weight rating. Of course, the Silverado also has a full suite of safety features that are common on new vehicles. Features like Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and IntelliBeam are available features to make driving your Chevy safer and easier. OnStar and Teen Driver are a few other safety perks available. Enjoy the convenience of having Google Assistant at your command with the built-in Google compatibility that can be accessed by voice command or touch screen. Get driving directions, play music, and more. This is all done using the seven or available 13.4-inch infotainment screen, which is the largest in the HD segment. Which Used Model in Chevy’s Extensive Lineup Is Right for You?

Shopping for a car can be overwhelming – that might sound strange coming from a dealership but we understand the realities of the situation. We have customers who come to us all the time who feel confused and lost amidst all of the options available to them. That's why Edwards Chevrolet 280 is here, after all, as a new and used Chevrolet dealer to help people find the perfect vehicle with everything they've been looking for. Chevy has one of the best lineups in the industry with a wide range of options, which means we can find something for anyone, but it can also make trying to figure out which one is right for you a bit challenging. Let's take a look at the full Chevy lineup so you can see what's out there and get a sense of which one will best meet your needs. more Great Chevy Sedans The Chevy Spark First, we have the smallest model Chevy offers and the most budget-friendly vehicle on the market: the subcompact Chevy Spark. This is a little hatchback that is absolutely perfect if you're looking for something that will go easy on your wallet. Chevy recently brought the Spark to an end, so 2022 is the last model year you'll find for it, but a used Spark is even less expensive and still a fantastic choice. The Chevy Bolt EV If you're interested in an all-electric model, then the Bolt EV is a terrific way to go. This is also a subcompact hatchback, though it's not quite as diminutive as the Spark, with two rows of seating and a spacious rear cargo area. The Bolt EV is perfect if you've been considering trying out an electric vehicle, but you're concerned about the high prices on them from other companies. The Chevy Malibu For anyone looking for a classic sedan experience on the road, you can't beat the Chevy Malibu and its years of fantastic models. The Malibu is a midsize sedan, which makes it perfect for small families, singles, or couples looking for a car that is a great vehicle for daily use. The Malibu is small enough to make it perfect for getting around town but still big enough inside to ensure everyone is comfortable and to give you plenty of trunk space. The Chevy Camaro If you're interested in a powerful sports car, then Chevy has you covered with two options, starting with the gorgeous Camaro. This is the quintessential example of a traditional sports car, with plenty of power packed into it to get your heart racing. Best of all, the starting price on the Camaro is quite low despite its performance, making it a very accessible pre-owned option for you to enjoy. The Chevy Corvette For a truly unique and unbelievable driving experience, there's the Corvette with its modern mid-engine design. This is a sports car that offers incredible power that leaves pretty much every other American performance vehicle in its dust. The mid-engine design delivers truly remarkable power that will put you back in your seat and keep a smile on your face every second you're behind the wheel and strapped into its cockpit. The used market is a fantastic option for those looking to enjoy this iconic car's performance without paying a new model price. Fantastic Chevy SUVs The Chevy Trax Chevy has one of the most diverse and impressive selections of SUVs in the auto industry, ensuring that there's something here for everyone. It starts with the Trax, a subcompact crossover model that's small enough to fit into any lifestyle. No matter how much space you have for your next vehicle, the Trax can squeeze into it while still giving you SUV functionality and a spacious interior for you to enjoy. The Chevy Trailblazer Next up, the Chevy Trailblazer is also a subcompact crossover model, though it's a bit larger than the Trax. This added size gives you more room inside for your passengers and for any cargo you need to load up. If you're looking for something small, but the Trax doesn't quite give you enough room for what you need, then you should check out the Trailblazer. The Chevy Bolt EUV The Bolt EV isn't the only all-electric model in Chevy's lineup – the Bolt EUV is a battery-electric crossover model built on the same platform as the Bolt EV. This gives you the functionality and design of a crossover SUV but with an all-electric powertrain that you will surely enjoy. Although Chevy has many more electric vehicles coming soon, the Bolt EV and EUV have been their flagships in this market. The Chevy Equinox If you're looking for something a bit larger than what we've seen so far, then you owe it to yourself to take a good look at the Equinox. This compact crossover model is bigger than the Trax or Trailblazer, but it's far from overbearing. The Equinox has been a favorite among many drivers for years, making it a great option whether you're looking for a brand-new or a pre-owned vehicle. The Chevy Blazer Next up, we have the Blazer, which is also a midsize SUV that's designed to give you more options when you're looking for your next ride. The Blazer is very similar in size to the Equinox but it has some upgraded features for you to enjoy, including excellent technology and comfort options inside. This can make the Blazer cost a bit more than the Equinox, but it's a great choice if you want modern amenities and it fits your budget. The Chevy Traverse The Traverse is a three-row SUV that's larger in size than what we've looked at so far, but it's far from the largest model Chevy offers. If you're looking for something for a growing family and need seating for six or seven people, then the Traverse can be the perfect option. Despite its large size, this is still a very budget-friendly choice, which is why so many families have looked to it as the perfect solution for their needs. The Chevy Tahoe The first of two full-size SUVs from Chevy, the Tahoe is the smaller of the two options, but it's far from demure. This is a large and powerful SUV with fantastic engines designed to make driving it feel rewarding and responsive. If you're looking for a vehicle that can fit eight people and keep everyone comfortable, then this is a great pick. The Chevy Suburban Finally, we have the largest option from Chevy, the full-size and impressive Suburban, which is even bigger than the Tahoe. We'll be honest: the Suburban is an absolute beast, but that makes it the perfect choice if you're looking for something large and in charge. If you have room for it in your life and need the space it delivers, then the Suburban could be perfect for you. Hardworking Chevy Trucks The Chevy Colorado Midsize trucks have become incredibly popular in recent years and there's no denying the Colorado is the favorite of many drivers. This is a great way to go if you're looking for a pickup with solid power and capability, while keeping things on the smaller side. The Colorado is also an incredible option for going off-road, so keep this one in mind before hitting the trail. The Chevy Silverado 1500 If you're looking for a full-size truck, you can't go wrong with the legendary Silverado 1500 and everything it brings to the road. The Silverado has remarkable power and capability packed into it thanks to a number of industry-leading available engines. Whether you're looking for a truck with a diesel engine to help you get your job done or need something for camping and taking a boat with you to the lake, the Silverado can deliver. The Chevy Silverado HD Series Of course, if you need something with even more power than the light-duty Silverado 1500, then there are the Silverado HD models. The Silverado 2500 HD gives you greater capability than the 1500 and offers robust performance, while the 3500 HD takes towing potential to the next level. If you're looking to do some serious gooseneck towing to haul a massive trailer or camper behind you, the Silverado 3500 HD can't be beaten. The Best Used Chevy Models to Beat the Daily Commute

Every day, a battle is waged on the city streets. It’s not a physical confrontation or one that involves conventional weapons, but the struggle of getting from point A to point B. This battle is called the daily commute. To win this struggle, a vehicle that’s cost-effective, reliable, and fuel-efficient is what’s needed to declare a decisive victory. These are often defined as commuter vehicles, and of all the brands that currently exist on the marketplace, it’s Chevy that has the best offerings for the commuting consumer. Here at Edwards Chevrolet 280, we have many vehicles in stock for those who are looking to save some extra pennies on their next vehicle purchase. more We’re not just a used Chevrolet dealer; we’re a location that believes in offering the very best for our customers. In order to better help our customers find the best vehicle for their commute, we've put together a list of examples of some of the models you may find on our used lot. Though you may not be able to find these options exactly, this is just an idea of what is out there, and our sales team would be happy to find you a model that is comparable to one of these. 2020 Chevy Sonic Many drivers who commute to work do so on their own. When it comes to going the distance on a limited budget, look no further than the 2020 Chevy Sonic to provide a cost-effective commute that’s reliable day after day. With the vehicle's lower-than-average cost and the depreciation that’s taken place since 2020, finding one for an affordable price is easy. With a peppy 1.4L four-cylinder engine and an efficient six-speed automatic transmission, you’ll also have the benefit of 26 MPG in the city, 34 MPG on the highway, and 29 MPG combined. Perfect for the daily grind and affording you peace of mind, courtesy of the five-star overall safety rating granted by the NHTSA. 2019 Chevy Volt Here’s a question that a few of our readers might be wondering—is it possible to have a commuter vehicle that’s both effective at limiting trips to the pump but still allowing you to arrive at any destination in style? The answer to this is a resounding “yes.” In the past, you might have had to sacrifice aesthetics to have a vehicle that possessed conservative fuel consumption, but those two worlds were blended seamlessly in the form of the 2019 Chevy Volt. Praised by many as one of the best plug-in hybrids to hit the market early on, the Volt offered up to 53 miles of electric-only range. With its sleek look and abundance of features, you’ll have no trouble being comfortable and having all of the desired amenities when you’re behind the wheel. The estimates from the EPA are more than favorable, as they calculated savings of $5,500 over a five-year period on fuel costs. 2018 Chevy Bolt EV Everyone needs a hero, and when it comes to the office carpool, you have an opportunity to be one, thanks to the 2018 Chevy Bolt EV. While the concept of the SUV going electric is no longer a new one, Chevy hit the ground running when they brought about the Bolt EV. Proving that comfortable seating and substantial cargo space could be had in an SUV that was fully electric, the Bolt EV is free of fossil fuel consumption and possesses a full range of up to 238 miles. This means a single charge can last for one whole week of driving, and the only need for a trip to the gas station is to fill up on nachos. With 56.6 available cubic feet of storage space, you’ll have no trouble taking it all with you on your many travels. 2018 Chevy Spark For the city dweller, the daily commute can be a stress-inducing activity, and even the most experienced drivers describe it as an arduous task. City driving tends to involve a lot of stop-and-go traffic, crowded streets, and above all else, the constant worry about what the other drivers you might be sharing the road with are doing. Luckily, this commute can be easily managed courtesy of a small vehicle that can weave in and out of the haphazard situations you might find yourself in. The 2018 Chevy Spark is just such a vehicle. This little hatchback has a 1.4L four-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual transmission. (Though a CVT transmission is also available and is just as efficient in the stop-and-go traffic patterns that one encounters in the city.) You might be surprised also to learn that while the Spark was not a hybrid, it was just as efficient in cutting fuel costs, with its combined 33 MPG. Broken down, you get 29 MPG in the city and an astonishing 39 MPG on the highway. For a solo commuter who calls the city home, the Spark is a vehicle too good to pass up. 2020 Chevy Malibu Continuing with gasoline-powered vehicles that are inexpensive regarding fuel costs, the 2020 Chevy Malibu is a practical choice that won’t disappoint when you’re traveling from home to the office and anywhere else in between. The far-reaching lineage of the Chevy Malibu needs little introduction, and although the modern-day ford door sedan might not be your Malibu SS with a 454 big block, it’s just as efficient. A four-door sedan is somewhat of a rarity these days with the SUV boom in full force, but the Malibu proves that this option is still a practical choice for the average consumer. A 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder with a CVT offers up 29 MPG in the city, 36 MPG on the highway, and 32 MPG combined. On average, you’ll have the ability to go 500 miles in between fill-ups, and the EPA estimates fuel savings of $1,000 over a five-year period. Sedans are usually cheaper to insure than other vehicles, and Chevy’s reputation for their fleet maintaining longevity is undoubtedly well known. 2018 Chevy Cruze We end our comprehensive list of used daily commuting vehicles with the virtues of diesel. Of course, Chevy and diesel share a solid companionship, as the company's engines have been known for giving vehicles such as the Silverado 1500 an edge in terms of torque and towing prowess. But this technology has benefited the sedan as well. The 2018 Chevy Cruze offered up ample storage space, and thanks to its turbo-diesel engine paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, fuel economy was elevated beyond expectations. 31 MPG in the city, 47 MPG on the highway, and 37 MPG combined prove that diesel fuel is still highly effective in a marketplace dominated by EVs. Commuting Made Possible by Way of Edwards Chevrolet 280 The daily commute can present a plethora of challenges for any driver to face, but as we’ve seen today, Chevy continues to offer up a variety of options that make the ordeal that much easier. For well over a century, the bow tie brand has catered to the various and err-changing needs of consumers to ensure that they get from place to place as efficiently as possible. At Edwards Chevrolet 280, you’ll find a wide variety of used models that have been aged like a fine bottle of vintage wine and will help you get to where you need to go without the need for multiple trips to the pump. We can’t do anything about that presentation you have to give, but we can help you choose a vehicle that gets you to the office on time and for a lower cost.

That’s why the Chevy Colorado, a beloved midsize pickup, saw some exciting and snazzy upgrades both in the performance and tech departments. It’s why the Corvette is very much here to stay, but with some upgrades that will make your heart stop. It’s also why their newer additions of the Bolt EV and EUV––vehicles that acknowledge the green and EV direction the car world is heading––got a lot of attention in the 2023 upgrades. There’s plenty to love about this year’s Chevy models, so we’ve put together some of the highlights. The 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 The thrilling and gorgeous Corvette is ready to wow speed demons and sports car enthusiasts. This year’s model, the Z06, gets a 5.5-liter V8 engine with 670 horsepower that will take your breath away. If you’re looking for a car whose engine could restart a stopped heart, this is the one. It can go from zero to 60 in 2.6 seconds for a truly exhilarating behind-the-wheel experience. Plus, it enjoys an all-new flat-plane crankshaft, which is lighter, allowing for less inertia and overall better acceleration. You will leave others in the dust in the Corvette Z06. It also has magnetic selective drive control, which reads the road and makes adjustments in a matter of seconds to adapt to the conditions. Pair that with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, and you’ll enjoy the smoothness of an automatic combined with the command of a manual. For those wanting to hit the tracks, you can opt for the available performance data recorder, which will show stats like your lap speed and gears selected, so you can learn and improve after every race. The 2023 Chevy Blazer Chevy’s midsize SUV, the Blazer, is back with a completely new look. It boasts an entirely updated front fascia with a new grille, new LED headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, and updated tail lamps. This makes for a truly sophisticated-looking SUV that remains sporty and fun to drive. Also new on the outside are the options of 18, 20, or 21-inch wheels. Additionally, there are several new paint color options, including Sterling Gray Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Copper Bronze Metallic. Inside, you’ll notice an all-new 10.2-inch diagonal center screen standard on all models. Wireless charging for your devices is available on all models. A power-programmable liftgate is available on some trims and standard on others for easy loading of the trunk. As was the case with previous years’ models, it’s rich with driver assist features like the following distance indicator and forward collision alert. The Bolt EV and EUV Chevrolet is staying ahead of the competition in its electric vehicle game. It’s offering a significant price drop for its 2023 Bolt EV and EUV. In fact, drivers can see a reduction of over $5,000 on certain trims, so those who were interested in these stylish EVs in the past but held back because of the price should consider checking out this year’s models. Independently, each of these EVs is seeing some new and attractive upgrades. The 2023 Bolt EUV gets the head-turning Redline Edition. This means jet black leather and red accent stitching on the inside and the paint options of Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, or Silver Flare Metallic finishes on the outside. The 2023 Bolt EUV also enjoys Super Cruise hands-free driving capabilities. In terms of its battery power, it has DC fast charging compatibility to get 95 miles in just 30 minutes. The 2023 Chevy Colorado The easy-to-maneuver and highly capable midsize pickup, the Chevy Colorado, returns with only one engine option this year, the 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. That said, the engine comes in three forms, so the horsepower varies depending on if you get the base engine (237 hp/259 lb-ft of torque), the Plus engine (310 hp/390 lb-ft of torque), or the High-Output engine (310 hp/430 lb-ft of torque). Plus, there will be a Desert Boss Special Edition, a reconfigurable bed, and integrated tailgate storage. The 2023 Chevy Colorado will only be available as a crew cab with a five-foot short bed. However, it’s still available in rear or four-wheel drive. One major change is noticeable on the interior, which is the majorly improved. 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that comes standard. Chevrolet Delivers Innovation and Timelessness in 2023 Chevrolet has made thoughtful and precise changes to some of its vehicles for the year 2023. It’s no secret that more and more drivers are considering electric vehicle options every year and that other major car manufacturers are creating their own EVs. So Chevy did a smart thing by taking a close look at two of its top EVs, the Bolt EV and EUV, and considering what improvements they could make. Price drops, better tech, and faster charging were all welcome additions to these electric vehicles. Chevrolet will always be a favorite brand for pickup drivers, and Chevy knows it, which is why it continues to improve its classic midsize pickup, the Colorado, in the 2023 lineup. With a new Desert Boss Special Edition and Trail Boss trim, it’s a worthy choice for off-road enthusiasts and adventurers looking for a highly capable truck. Meanwhile, the Blazer has always been a beautiful and modern midsize SUV. Chevy just gave people more of what they already love with a new look, better infotainment features, and more wheel-size options. As for the thrill seekers out there looking to upgrade their weekend ride, the new Corvette is certainly a contender. It has capabilities that will take your breath away, all in a stunning body, and with a fun performance data recorder that lets you learn about your own driving patterns so you can get better with every lap. All in all, drivers are going to like what they find in Chevy’s 2023 lineup.

2023 Chevy Tahoe Buyer’s Guide

The Chevy Tahoe is back and boasts the spacious interior, impressive capabilities, power, smooth handling, and beautiful styling it’s always been known for. This three-row full-size SUV has always been a favorite among families, road trippers, and anyone who needs an ultra-comfortable ride that can haul up to eight passengers. Chevy did not disappoint with the newest model, which boasts an even more stunning interior, more advanced driver assist features, a gorgeous touch screen, and loads of trims. more As your local Chevrolet Tahoe dealer in Alabaster, AL, we know everything there is to know about the 2023 Chevy Tahoe and its trim lineup. Each trim appeals to a specific driver. Some features might be a must-have for you and superfluous for someone else. Meanwhile, you don’t want to accidentally pay a premium for features that you won’t need. Here’s our breakdown of the 2023 Chevy Tahoe trims so you can know what to expect in each one. The High Country If you want a car that’s a mix of highly capable and beautiful, check out the High Country. It’s ready for unpredictable roads, thanks to its all-season tires and its magnetic ride control with available four-corner air ride adaptive suspension. These systems together read the road and make damping changes in the electronically controlled shock absorbers to respond accordingly while also allowing the vehicle height to adjust to different driving conditions. A versatile option, this trim has the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine with dynamic fuel management technology. This technology lets the engine turn off certain cylinders when the full power of the V8 engine is not needed, like when cruising on the highway, and ramps them back up when the full power is needed, such as during towing and hauling or going uphill. The Premier The Premier also has magnetic ride control to adapt to different road conditions but has a bit more focus on luxury features and freeway and city-based driving situations. That’s why you’ll find the lane change alert with side blind zone alert on this trim. You’ll also enjoy the ten-speaker Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound system, which creates a fully immersive listening experience. In this trim, you’ll get standard ten-way power driver and front passenger seats, and the twelve-way versions are available. Plus, you get standard cruise control and visors with illuminated mirrors. Drivers looking for a combination of capabilities and a luxury feel should consider this trim. The Z71 The High Country is a versatile trim ready for paved roads and other conditions; conversely, the Z71 is an unapologetically adventurous trim. You see that right away with its red recovery hooks, designed to let another vehicle help lift the car up when it gets stuck or get another car out of a tough spot in an off-road situation. It’s also going to have 20-inch wheels and all-terrain tires––more aggressive than the all-season tires found on the High Country. Plus, you’ll see assist steps here and the available four-corner air ride adaptive suspension for those who want height adjustment capabilities. Thanks to the standard ten-speed automatic transmission, this car also lets you make quick adjustments when the road throws surprises your way. It also has a front skid plate, which protects important elements of your vehicle, like the transfer box and fuel tank. Plus, it enjoys a heavy-duty air filter not found in the other trims. All in all, the Z71 is for the driver who isn’t quite sure where their adventures will take them and who needs a car that lets them remain in control over unpredictable roads. The RST The distinguishing features of the RST are both aesthetic and performance-based. It boasts a jet-black interior with red stitching that is exclusive to this trim, along with a monochromatic black grille with black ice accents. Then there are the RST-exclusive badging and emblems found throughout, along with bright machined high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels. The performance elements come in when you opt for the performance package. This is where you’ll get a 13-horsepower jump from the standard RST trim and the ability to go from zero to 60 in less than six seconds, plus a top speed of 124 mph. That’s a lot of power from a full-size SUV and a fun choice for those who need a little thrill, along with a practical people hauler. The LT The LT seems to be focused on affordable comfort and luxury. This is where you find those special touches that make this SUV feel a cut above its competition. Some of these touches include a rearview auto-dimming mirror. This is a feature that enables your rearview mirrors to detect glare coming from vehicles behind you and automatically darkens the mirror to improve your view. You’ll have ten-way power driver and front passenger seats in the LT to get that perfectly comfortable angle. It even has driver memory, which lets the vehicle recall the driver’s preferred seat and mirror positions. You’ll also find wireless charging on this trim that allows you and your passengers to power up devices without tangled cords making a mess of the sleek pilot area. A nine-speaker Bose sound system comes standard on this trim for clear and crisp listening of podcasts, music, and more. Moving to the practical, it has a hands-free programmable liftgate that makes it easy to load up your trunk when your hands are full. The LS The LS trim is more about function than luxury. That being said, it delivers well in the categories of driver assist and performance. It has standard front and rear parking assist for those tricky parking situations, front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, and a following distance indicator. While the LT has a ten-way power passenger function on the front seats, the LS has an eight-way function. This trim is a good choice for adventurers and travelers because it boasts a chrome roof rack luggage carrier to provide extra storage for you and your passenger’s belongings. This trim has all-season tires that are good for moderate conditions across seasons. A ten-speed automatic transmission comes standard, giving the driver plenty of options when it comes to different gear ratios. Check Out the Dynamic 2023 Chevy Tahoe Once you get to know the 2023 Chevy Tahoe lineup, it becomes clear that each trim was designed with special attention and with a particular driver in mind. You have the LS, which is a great basic option that has features that will keep you safe and get you where you’re going smoothly. It might not be rich with bells and whistles, but it delivers the enjoyable handling and comfort the Tahoe is known for. However, those who want “the works” know the Premier is there for them with available twelve-way power front seats, illuminated visor mirrors, and a top-of-the-line sound system. Those who want to explore unpaved roads and new paths know the Z71 is the way to go with its all-terrain tires, recovery hooks, and skid plates. It was clearly made for those who don’t stick to freeways and city roads. And for those who want a combination of luxury features and capability that make the car as much of a joy to be a passenger or driver of, there’s the High Country. All in all, it’s a dynamic lineup that has something for everyone.
