Get Ready for the 2023 Chevy Lineup

Maroon 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss driving on a dusty trail

The year 2023 is almost here, and Chevy is revving its engines (literally) to celebrate the incoming year with some exciting upgrades and additions to its lineup. We’ve taken a sneak peek at all that’s to come for 2023, so if you’ve been looking for a Chevy dealer in Hoover, AL, who is ready to help you choose the best new Chevy for your needs, pay us a visit at Edwards Chevrolet 280. We’ve been test-driving and exploring all of the fun new additions, so we’re ready to help our customers understand which models and features are right for you.

One thing we love about the 2023 lineup is that Chevy paid special attention to nearly every category of their cars. People who need a great SUV might like to know that there are some changes in store for the sporty Blazer. Speed demons should restock on racing flags because the Corvette has some fun surprises in store for you. And those who have been interested in making the switch to an electric vehicle but have been hesitant might finally make the leap once they see the 2023 Bolt EV and EUV. There really is something for everyone in this new lineup, and we can’t wait to take you for a test drive. To pique your interest until then, here are some of the 2023 highlights you can look forward to.

A Tougher Colorado

If you’re familiar with the Chevy Colorado, then you already know that this is the brand’s easy-to-drive midsize pickup. It has moderate capabilities for those who need to do some modest towing and hauling while boasting maneuverability that makes it a good everyday car, too. This year, Chevy is toughening up their Colorado. Take one look at it, and you will immediately notice a more muscular stance––it’s wider and bigger to provide additional stability and balance. This year’s Colorado will only be available with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, but it’s a strong enough engine to handle the work most drivers put a Colorado up to.

Those who want to use their Colorado for some off-road adventure have two options within the 2023 Colorado lineup: the Trail Boss Edition and the ZR2. And for those who do need a hard-working truck for towing and hauling, the Desert Boss can tow a generous 7,700 pounds. Plus, it boasts a customizable bed along with integrated tailgate storage, making it an excellent DIYer’s pickup. Note that the 2023 Colorado exclusively comes in a crew cab paired with a five-foot bed. It remains comfortably in its midsize category, but Chevy has made some changes to make this a slightly tougher pickup.

A Blazer With a Makeover

The Chevy Blazer received one of the bigger refreshes in the 2023 lineup. The fascia will instantly strike you as different from previous years’ models. Completely new LED lamps from front to back greatly contribute to its new look, and provide drivers with greater visibility in low-light settings. The grille is distinctly different as well, with a unique new geometrical pattern. Drivers have some new color choices to choose from this year, too: Sterling Gray Metallic, Copper Bronze Metallic, and Radiant Red Tintcoat. As the final aesthetic upgrade, drivers can opt for 18, 20, or 21-inch wheels for either a subtle or more athletic look. Those who opt for the RS trim will see an elegant and eye-catching Nightshift Blue Interior.

The vehicle’s cabin continues to become more sophisticated and modern with a sleek and stunning 10.2-inch diagonal center screen. Drivers can look forward to staying connected thanks to wireless charging that is now standard on all models, and an available Wi-Fi hotspot. Between these two features, drivers and passengers can enjoy fully powered devices and the Internet on long drives. The vehicle still has great safety features, but that’s nothing new. Most upgrades for 2023 are stylistic.

A Corvette That Is Not for the Faint of Heart

The Corvette is making quite the splash this year, and if you hear what sounds like a monster-sized engine revving on your street, it’s probably the 2023 Corvette Z06. This year, the beloved and classic sports car gets a 5.5-liter V8 engine that kicks out 670 horsepower and makes this vehicle capable of going from zero to 60 in under three seconds. What also contributes to that new 0 to 60 record is the new flat-plane crankshaft that improves acceleration and cuts back on lag time. Drivers looking for a truly thrilling behind-the-wheel adventure won’t be disappointed. Plus, if you want to know the specifics of your performance, you can opt for the performance data recorder. This will display your stats, helping you learn and improve for your next lap.

Drivers can feel an enhanced sense of control over and connection to the Z06 thanks to a couple of features. One of these is the magnetic selective drive control. This system makes automatic adjustments to improve the car’s performance based on road conditions. Then there’s the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. This type of transmission divvies the transmission up into two parts: one clutch works with the odd-numbered gears, and the other corresponds to the even-numbered ones. Overall, this creates a transmission that operates extremely efficiently.

Go Green and Save Some Green With the Bolt

Chevy made headlines when they announced that the Chevy Bolt EV and EUV would boast significant price drops this year (we’re talking around $5-6K on some trims). Chevrolet has been outspoken about its ambitious plans to make most (and eventually all) of its lineup electric, so we think this price drop will make EVs more accessible to those on a budget and ultimately ease its customers into electric vehicles.

The lower price tags aren’t the only new things to get excited about. Both vehicles have some interesting features that make them a true pleasure to drive. In both models, you’ll get one pedal driving. This lets you speed up and slow down all with (you guessed it) one pedal. If you recall times you’ve sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic, inching up every few moments, you know how fatigued your legs get. One-pedal driving will be a big bonus in those conditions.

As for the EUV, some stylistic changes are noticeable, the main one being the addition of the Redline Edition. This version of the LT or Premier trims gets black leather with red accent stitching inside and some eye-catching paint options. Both vehicles boast quick charging times and impressive ranges. With that new lower price point, these EVs are definitely worth a look.

The 2023 Chevy Lineup Is Pretty Impressive

Chevrolet did not hold back when making upgrades to its 2023 lineup. The brand has its eyes set on elevating style and improving performance to meet the changing needs of fans. The Corvette is faster and stronger, the Colorado is tougher, the Blazer is somehow more beautiful than ever, and the Bolt EV and EUV just got a little more affordable, making EV life feel a little more within reach for all. We’re so excited about this 2023 lineup and know that our customers will enjoy test-driving these vehicles. Our team is already well versed in them, in and out, and ready to take you for a spin. Be sure to check out our website to see what we have on our lot and what’s on its way, and schedule a test drive today.

Green 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 driving in a forest

What Birmingham Drivers Will Love About the 2027 Silverado 1500

The fifth-generation 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 introduces major updates to its powertrains, technology, off-road capability, and available luxury features. For shoppers comparing the trucks for sale in Birmingham, those changes give the Silverado several new ways to stand out in the full-size pickup segment. These updates build on the Silverado's existing utility while giving the fifth-generation truck a more modern cabin and broader range of capabilities. We'll go through some of the highlights that make the Silverado 1500 such a standout truck for the 2027 model year. New Engine Lineup For many full-size truck shoppers, the powertrain is one of the most important factors because it affects performance, towing, hauling, and everyday drivability. The 2027 Silverado 1500 expands its engine choices with new V8 options while retaining alternatives for shoppers who prioritize efficiency or diesel-powered towing capability. The engine lineup includes: 5.7L V8 6.6L V8 2.7L TurboMax turbocharged I-4 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel I-6 The all-new 6.6L V8 gives shoppers another option for prioritizing strong performance from the Silverado 1500. Meanwhile, the 2.7L TurboMax provides a more versatile choice for drivers who want a truck suited to both daily driving and work duties The 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel I-6 is another option for shoppers who prioritize towing capability. For Birmingham drivers who are in the market for a true workhorse, this is the powertrain that delivers everything needed to get the most out of the Silverado 1500's capabilities. Improved Tech Another big highlight for the fifth-generation Chevy Silverado 1500 is the improved tech suite for the vehicle. Drivers focused primarily on performance will appreciate the new engine lineup and returning utility features. For shoppers who also want a modern full-size pickup, the updated infotainment system adds another important dimension to the Silverado 1500. The 16.3-inch HD touchscreen gives the Silverado 1500 a large, easy-to-use interface for accessing navigation, media, apps, and other vehicle functions through Google built-in. Its size also makes information easier to view at a glance while you're parked or preparing for a trip. The 12.2-inch digital driver display puts vehicle information, navigation, media, and other data directly within the driver's view. You can also customize the information shown on the display, allowing you to prioritize the details that matter most during your drive. All-New Passenger-Side Touchscreen The all-new 11.5-inch passenger-side touchscreen adds a third digital display to the front of the cabin on ZR2 and High Country models. It gives the front passenger access to many of the same functions available through the center touchscreen, adding another way to interact with the Silverado's technology. In addition to the 11.5-inch passenger touchscreen, the ZR2 and High Country also come standard with a Heads-Up Display. This allows the driver to view important information within their field of vision, reducing the need to look down toward the instrument panel while driving. All of this tech works seamlessly together, along with the robust safety system and the available Super Cruise. This gives Birmingham drivers an opportunity to make use of the hands-free driving technology from Chevy, reducing the stress of long drives or daily commutes along the highway. Highly Capable for Off-Roading The fifth-generation Silverado 1500 also gives off-road shoppers several purpose-built configurations to consider. Each trim adds different levels of trail-oriented equipment, allowing shoppers to choose based on how seriously they plan to venture off pavement. The light-duty pickup is available in multiple off-road trims, including: Custom Trail Boss Trail Boss ZR2 Each entry offers something unique for shoppers based on budget and features. The Custom Trail Boss adds a two-inch lift and 34-inch tires, giving the truck additional ground clearance and a more trail-focused setup. It can still serve as a practical work truck, making it a useful option for shoppers who want off-road capability without moving all the way up to the ZR2. The Trail Boss builds on the Custom Trail Boss with additional off-road equipment, including Mud-Terrain tires and an off-road sport hood. Its more aggressive design and added trail-oriented features make it a natural step up for shoppers who expect to spend more time away from paved roads. Next-Level Adventure With the ZR2 For Birmingham-area shoppers who expect to spend weekends exploring trails around Jefferson and Shelby counties, the ZR2 provides the most extensive off-road equipment in the Silverado 1500 lineup. This truck comes with 35-inch Mud/Terrain tires, a two-inch factory-installed lift kit, a dedicated off-road hood, and an off-road-tuned suspension. The ZR2 also comes standard with front and rear electronically locking differentials, helping maintain traction when navigating challenging terrain. The race-proven Multimatic DSSV spool-valve dampers also provide added durability and capability when taking on difficult terrain. Inside, the ZR2 complements its rugged exterior with Torch Red-edged seatbelts and carbon-fiber inserts throughout the cabin. The ZR2 also comes with dual wireless charging, bridging the conveniences of modern technology with high-end off-roading capabilities. Improved High Country The 2027 Silverado 1500 also gives luxury-minded shoppers more reason to consider the High Country. Chevrolet has expanded its standard equipment while adding new design details that further distinguish the upscale trim. In addition to the Heads-Up Display and passenger-side touchscreen, the High Country has also received all-new badging and wheels, along with a Tritan Satin grille. The upscale refinement of the High Country also includes a panoramic sunroof, Natural Tan-edged seatbelts, real wood decor, and microfiber suede inserts. Together, these features give the High Country a more premium character while retaining the practicality expected from a full-size pickup. That combination makes it worth considering for drivers who use their truck for commuting during the week but still need its towing and cargo capabilities on weekends. Versatile for Work & Recreation The Silverado 1500's updates matter most when they're put to work. Beyond the new powertrains and cabin technology, the 2027 model retains practical trailering and cargo-management features that can make a difference during everyday hauling and weekend recreation. The 2027 Silverado 1500 also offers trailering features designed to make towing more manageable across the lineup. Features such as Hitch View and Hitch Guidance provide additional visibility and guidance through the truck's available displays when you're connecting a trailer. For Birmingham drivers who regularly tow trailers, boats, or recreational equipment, these tools can make the connection process more straightforward. Whether you're hauling equipment for work or preparing for a weekend trip, the Silverado 1500 gives you practical features designed to make towing easier to manage. Multi-Flex Capabilities The Multi-Flex Tailgate adds another layer of practical functionality to the Silverado 1500. Its six configurations can help with tasks ranging from accessing the cargo box to creating a temporary work surface or load stop. That range of functions can make loading, unloading, and accessing the cargo box easier during everyday work or recreation. The cargo box can also be configured around different types of gear and equipment. Tie-down cleats help secure cargo, while available cargo-management accessories can help organize tools, recreational equipment, and other items. That flexibility makes the Silverado useful for everything from weekday work tasks to weekend projects and outdoor trips. How Chevy Silverado HD Trucks Help You Do Your Job

For more than a century, Chevy trucks have been working hard, helping people get their jobs done with big capabilities and more. Chevy’s heavy-duty trucks these days are among the best out there, thanks to their powerful engines, robust capabilities, and terrific features inside and out. If you’re interested in heavy duty trucks for sale and trying to figure out which models are right for you, the Silverado 2500 HD and Silverado 3500 HD are both terrific options. Let’s check out how these trucks can help you get serious work done and keep you going day after day. Powerful Engines Get More Done Although you might have any number of things in mind when looking at heavy-duty trucks, we find that the engines are the perfect place to start. So much else depends on the engines available with a truck like these two that if the powertrain comes up short, then nothing else tends to matter. Fortunately, Chevy has been building powerful engines for well over 100 years, and its modern offerings are among the best in the industry. When it comes to power and performance, you have two options for both the Silverado 2500 HD and Silverado 3500 HD: 6.6L V8 gas engine: 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque 6.6L diesel engine: 470 hp and 975 lb-ft of torque Both engines deliver tremendous power, ensuring the heavy-duty truck you choose is ready to help you get your job done. There’s no going wrong with either of these. The right one just depends on what you prefer in your truck. The standard gas engine works well and offers impressive capabilities, but the Duramax turbo-diesel is undeniably the way to go if you need to tow some serious weight. Giving you both options means you can choose what you need without going overboard or missing out on what you want. Big Towing Capabilities for Big Jobs The two available engines aren’t just for show. The kind of power they deliver is great for getting to a jobsite, but also vital for handling some serious weight. When it comes to towing, these trucks are among the best out there, ensuring you can haul as much as you need behind your truck. With two different models, plus two engines and numerous configurations to choose from, Chevy gives you plenty of options to put together the right truck. To keep things simple, let’s look at both models and their available engines to see what the maximum tow ratings for them are: 2026 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 6.6L V8 gas engine: 16,000 lbs conventional, 18,700 lbs gooseneck 6.6L diesel engine: 20,000 lbs conventional, 22,050 lbs gooseneck 2026 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD 6.6L V8 gas engine: 18,700 lbs conventional, 19,080 lbs gooseneck 6.6L diesel engine: 20,000 lbs conventional, 36,000 lbs gooseneck As you can see, your choice of options can have a big impact on the overall capabilities of these two trucks. The important thing to point out is that the Silverado 3500 HD is available with a dual-rear-wheel (DRW) setup, which is necessary for the massive gooseneck towing it's known for. Without a DRW configuration, the Silverado 3500 HD tops out at 22,420 lbs of gooseneck towing, which is just a bit more than the Silverado 2500 HD. For the greatest towing power available, the Silverado 3500 HD with its DRW setup is the way to go. Tremendous Payload and Cargo Capacity Massive towing is important with a heavy-duty truck, but it’s not the only way you’ll get work done each day. We know a lot of people who focus more on how much stuff they can load into the bed of their trucks so they can hit the road without hitching up a trailer. Both of these trucks offer impressive payload potential, but there are some differences worth noting. Just like with towing, let’s see how these two models and their engines stack up: 2026 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD 6.6L V8 gas engine: 3,689 lbs 6.6L diesel engine: 3,615 lbs 2026 Chevy Silverado 3500 HD 6.6L V8 gas engine: 7,234 lbs 6.6L diesel engine: 6,638 lbs The difference between these two trucks is especially pronounced when you look at how much weight you can load onto each of them. Once again, however, we need to note that the Silverado 3500 HD is available with a DRW setup, which is what those high payload ratings reflect. Even if you’re not interested in gooseneck or fifth wheel towing, but you want to load up the bed of your truck with massive weight, the DRW configuration is unbeatable. We should also mention that both trucks offer two bed lengths. There’s a Standard Bed that’s about 82 inches long with 69.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume, as well as a Long Bed that’s just over 98 inches long with 83.5 cu.ft. of cargo space. Both bed lengths are available for both trucks, giving you plenty of room to load up with all the stuff you need for your job each day. A Wide Range of Configuration Options Not only do you have two different bed lengths available, plus a DRW setup as an option for the Silverado 3500 HD, but Chevy also gives you three cab sizes to choose from. This makes it easier for you to get a truck that is perfectly suited to help you do your job without missing a thing. There’s a Regular Cab with a single row of seating for three passengers, as well as a Double Cab with two rows for up to six people, and a larger Crew Cab that’s even more spacious inside. If you need a simple, straightforward work truck, the Regular Cab can be a great pick, while the other two options are ideal if you need to bring others along each day. Impressive Tech and Comfort Features One thing we really like about these Chevy trucks is the impressive array of features that you can get with them. Standard interior features in the WT trim include a seven-inch infotainment display, a 3.5-inch monochromatic Driver Information Center, and vinyl seating to keep things very simple and work-ready. If you want something a bit nicer, the LT trim gives you upgrades such as a beautiful 13.4-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch color Driver Information Center screen, and cloth seating. You can even go wild with the High Country trim that includes perforated leather front seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and a Bose Premium sound system. These options let you put together a truck that works hard and keeps you comfortable for long hours on the road. Learn More About Chevy’s Heavy Duty Trucks As you can see, these heavy-duty trucks are built to work and provide you with all the tools you need each day. Whether you want to keep things simple while still getting massive towing potential or you prefer to turn your truck into a mobile office that lets you stay connected to your teams while reaching remote locations, there’s a Silverado HD model that is up to the task. Having so many options available can also be a little overwhelming if you’re not sure which one is right for you. We at Edwards Chevrolet 280 can help you figure it all out and make sure you get the perfect work truck.

Instead of just cloth seat trim, the interior sports a mix of cloth and Evotex, a stylish and easy-to-clean material that elevates the cabin. Technology The LT is the most affordable trim level that comes standard with the most advanced infotainment system available on the Trax. The 11-inch HD color touchscreen makes everything easy to read and control, while the large eight-inch color driver information center behind the wheel puts vital information right in your line of sight. In addition to USB ports up front, the LT also has a pair of ports for backseat passengers, so everyone can keep their devices charged. 2RS & ACTIV As with the mid-tier trims, the two top-tier trims of the Trax have the exact same starting price. These two share even more features in common than the 1RS and LT do. Both models have the tech upgrades of the LT as well as the creature comforts found on the 1RS, giving you the best of both worlds. Both also share some key upgrades in common, including: eight-way power driver seat two-way power driver lumbar Keyless open Evotex seat trim Wrapped steering wheel The difference is almost entirely aesthetic: the 2RS takes the sporty styling of the 1RS to the next level, while the ACTIV has a more rugged look. 2RS: Step Out in Style Like the 1RS, the 2RS has a black grille insert, black Chevy bowtie emblems, and bold red RS badging. The steering wheel is now wrapped, but it's still distinct with its flat-bottom shape. Basically, you get all the benefits of the 1RS plus the upgrades of the top-tier level. It's a great SUV for everything from cruising around Hoover to heading out on an epic road trip. ACTIV: Make Your Presence Felt The ACTIV has its own exclusive badge and a stylish black grille with titanium chrome accents that gives the front end a look all its own. Like the 2LT, it has black Chevy bowtie emblems that look great with any paint color. These emblems match the black-painted wheels that are exclusive to the ACTIV trim.
